Job Description

Write clean code, review pull requests and fix what breaks at an insurance company software team in Centurion. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

This post is Centurion-based, with most of your time spent at an insurance company software team. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

What you'll actually do

Build and consume REST or GraphQL APIs
Pair with junior developers to unblock them
Write unit and integration tests before you merge
Review teammates' pull requests with useful comments
Document how your features work for support and new developers
Design database tables and write efficient SQL queries
Write, test and refactor code in your team's main language

Must-haves

You can explain technical choices to non-technical people
Stable internet and a quiet workspace for remote days
Good SQL and understanding of relational databases
Commercial experience in at least one of PHP, C#, Java, Python or JavaScript
A computer science or IT qualification, or a portfolio that proves you can build
Solid Git habits: branches, pull requests and meaningful commit messages
