Job Description

Here your code runs in production, not in a drawer: an e-commerce platform in Pretoria West. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

You'll report in Pretoria West. Relocation is not covered for this one. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

The work, day to day

Write, test and refactor code in your team's main language
Write unit and integration tests before you merge
Document how your features work for support and new developers
Design database tables and write efficient SQL queries
Review teammates' pull requests with useful comments

You'll need

Experience writing automated tests
Commercial experience in at least one of PHP, C#, Java, Python or JavaScript
Stable internet and a quiet workspace for remote days
A computer science or IT qualification, or a portfolio that proves you can build
Good SQL and understanding of relational databases
You can explain technical choices to non-technical people

Nice if you have

Knowledge of secure coding and the OWASP Top 10
Experience in regulated sectors such as banking or medical schemes
Cloud certification on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
