Spray Tractor Operator (Orchards)

If you know tractors, a sugar cane estate near Kimberley has steady work for you. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

Location: Kimberley, Northern Cape. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Check oil, water, tyres and grease points before starting
• Haul cane, grain or fruit bins from field to shed
• Plant rows straight, using GPS guidance where the tractor has it
• Report breakdowns and help the mechanic with repairs
• Mix and apply sprays exactly as the farm manager prescribes
• Clear firebreaks and grade farm roads when needed

• Available to live on or near the farm
• At least 2 years driving tractors on a farm
• Reliable and sober on duty
• Willing to work long hours in planting and harvest seasons

• Experience with GPS guidance or auto-steer
• Basic mechanical skills
• Code 8 or Code 10 licence for road trips

• Harvest bonus at season end
• Overtime paid during planting and harvest
• Training on new machinery
