How2Apply never charges you to apply, for training, for uniforms or for a "placement fee". If anyone asks you for money, it is a scam.

How to stand out

Stores fill weekend and night-fill slots first, so write "available weekends and nights" in your CV summary line.
If you have ever sold anything, even at a school tuck shop or a family stall, list it. It shows you are comfortable with customers.
