Job Description

Start in retail here: a hardware and building store in Tembisa trains packers who show up and work neat. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

Location: Tembisa, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

The work, day to day

Weigh, bag and price fruit and vegetables
Pack shelves from the back, rotating older stock to the front (first in, first out)
Clean spills fast and put up wet-floor signs
Build promotional displays at the ends of aisles
Check sell-by dates and pull expired stock for the manager
Face products so labels point forward and gaps are filled

What you need

Able to stand and lift cases all shift
Polite with customers and happy to help
Honest, since stock losses are checked closely
Grade 10 or matric

Extra points for

Own transport for route merchandising jobs
Previous shelf packing or merchandising work
