Store Detective (Retail Loss Prevention)

You'll catch shoplifting and stock losses at a retail distribution centre in Germiston before they cost jobs. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

You'll be based at a retail distribution centre in Germiston. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Share trends with the store manager each week
• Tag high-value stock and check security tags at the doors
• Walk the floor in plain clothes and watch for shoplifting behaviour
• Help with stock counts and point out loss hot-spots
• Check receiving bay deliveries against invoices and seal numbers

• Matric or equivalent NQF Level 4
• Good report writing
• Knowledge of lawful arrest and search under the Criminal Procedure Act
• Able to handle confrontation calmly

• Previous store detective experience with case outcomes
• Understanding of stock systems and shrinkage reports

• Plain clothes work (no uniform in detective roles)
• Monthly recovery incentives
• Staff discount at the retailer
