Tactical Response Officer (Night Shift)

Clients in a business park in Epping pay for fast response, and this crew delivers it. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

This post is in Epping (Western Cape). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Visit clients for key-holder checks and open-up requests
• Check the firearm in and out of the safe at shift start and end
• Do vehicle checks: tyres, fuel, lights and siren
• Give first aid at an incident until paramedics take over
• Search the property perimeter and check doors, windows and gates
• Drive the response vehicle safely at speed to client addresses
• Secure a scene until SAPS arrives and hand over details

• At least 2 years in guarding or response
• Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts
• SAPS firearm competency certificate for handguns (and shotgun if required)
• PSIRA Grade B or C with an armed response course

• Knowledge of the local streets and sectors
• First-aid Level 2 or 3
• SAPS, SANDF or reservist background

• Danger and night allowances
• Regular refresher shooting practice
• Response vehicle and firearm provided
• Group life cover through the provident fund

• Mention the areas you know well. Companies prefer officers who can find addresses fast without a GPS.
• Bring the originals of your certificates to the interview. Armed companies verify them before a shooting test.
