Tactical Response Officer (Night Shift)

Serious work for a serious officer: armed response across a mixed-use neighbourhood in Germiston. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

This post is in Germiston (Gauteng). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Secure a scene until SAPS arrives and hand over details
• Visit clients for key-holder checks and open-up requests
• Respond to alarm and panic signals sent by the control room
• Give first aid at an incident until paramedics take over
• Carry out visible patrols through the sector between call-outs

• Clean criminal record and no pending cases
• At least 2 years in guarding or response
• SAPS firearm competency certificate for handguns (and shotgun if required)
• Calm under pressure and physically fit
• Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts
• PSIRA Grade B or C with an armed response course

• Knowledge of the local streets and sectors
• Advanced driving course

• Regular refresher shooting practice
• Group life cover through the provident fund
• Response vehicle and firearm provided
• Danger and night allowances

• Bring the originals of your certificates to the interview. Armed companies verify them before a shooting test.
• Mention the areas you know well. Companies prefer officers who can find addresses fast without a GPS.
