Tactical Response Officer (Night Shift) – Fixed-Term

You'll answer alarms across a mixed-use neighbourhood in Krugersdorp in a marked vehicle, armed and ready. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

You'll be based at a mixed-use neighbourhood in Krugersdorp. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Check the firearm in and out of the safe at shift start and end
• Drive the response vehicle safely at speed to client addresses
• Do vehicle checks: tyres, fuel, lights and siren
• Visit clients for key-holder checks and open-up requests
• Carry out visible patrols through the sector between call-outs
• Write detailed incident reports on the tablet or in the vehicle logbook
• Secure a scene until SAPS arrives and hand over details

• Calm under pressure and physically fit
• PSIRA Grade B or C with an armed response course
• Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts
• Clean criminal record and no pending cases
• Valid Code 8 or Code 10 licence with at least 2 years driving
• SAPS firearm competency certificate for handguns (and shotgun if required)

• Response vehicle and firearm provided
• Regular refresher shooting practice
• Danger and night allowances
• Group life cover through the provident fund
