Job Description

When a panic button goes off in a farming district in Soweto, you are the one who arrives first. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

This post is Soweto-based, with most of your time spent at a farming district.

The work, day to day

Carry out visible patrols through the sector between call-outs
Search the property perimeter and check doors, windows and gates
Give first aid at an incident until paramedics take over
Drive the response vehicle safely at speed to client addresses
Visit clients for key-holder checks and open-up requests

What you need

Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts
PSIRA Grade B or C with an armed response course
Valid Code 8 or Code 10 licence with at least 2 years driving
Calm under pressure and physically fit
Clean criminal record and no pending cases
SAPS firearm competency certificate for handguns (and shotgun if required)

Extra points for

SAPS, SANDF or reservist background
First-aid Level 2 or 3
