Job Description

Clients sleep better when their tax is sorted, and a mid-tier accounting firm in Boksburg needs you to sort it. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

You'll report in Boksburg. Relocation is not covered for this one.

The work, day to day

Respond to SARS verification letters and upload documents on time
Track filing season deadlines and send reminders to clients
Keep client tax files complete for five years
Advise on deductions such as retirement contributions and home office claims
Prepare VAT201 returns and review input tax claims

Must-haves

Working knowledge of the Income Tax Act and VAT Act
Degree or diploma in accounting or tax
Registered tax practitioner with a recognised controlling body such as SAIT or SAIPA
Neat, careful and organised with client documents
Comfortable handling tax season overtime

Extra points for

Tax software experience such as TaxShop or CaseWare
Postgraduate diploma in tax
