Tax Consultant (Corporate Income Tax)

A small tax practice in Bloemfontein needs a tax practitioner who knows eFiling inside out. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

You'll report in Bloemfontein. Relocation is not covered for this one. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Keep client tax files complete for five years
• Check SARS assessments and flag errors to clients
• Draft objections and appeals with supporting schedules
• Apply for tax clearance and tax compliance status PINs
• Advise on deductions such as retirement contributions and home office claims
• Prepare VAT201 returns and review input tax claims
• Respond to SARS verification letters and upload documents on time

• Registered tax practitioner with a recognised controlling body such as SAIT or SAIPA
• Comfortable handling tax season overtime
• Neat, careful and organised with client documents
• Clear writing for SARS letters and objections

• Experience with trusts, estates and capital gains tax
• Tax software experience such as TaxShop or CaseWare
• Customs and excise knowledge for import-export clients

• Paid controlling body subscription
• Flexible hours outside filing season
• Bonus at the end of filing season

• Make sure your own tax affairs are up to date, as some firms check your compliance status before they appoint.
