Job Description

Returns, assessments and objections all land on your desk at a mid-tier accounting firm in Sasolburg. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

The work is in Sasolburg, Free State, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day.

What you'll actually do

Apply for tax clearance and tax compliance status PINs
Check SARS assessments and flag errors to clients
Prepare VAT201 returns and review input tax claims
Respond to SARS verification letters and upload documents on time
Draft objections and appeals with supporting schedules

You'll need

At least 2 years of SARS eFiling experience
Degree or diploma in accounting or tax
Comfortable handling tax season overtime
Working knowledge of the Income Tax Act and VAT Act

Nice if you have

Customs and excise knowledge for import-export clients
Tax software experience such as TaxShop or CaseWare
Postgraduate diploma in tax
