Job Description

Returns, assessments and objections all land on your desk at an import and export trading house in Vanderbijlpark. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

Home base is an import and export trading house on the Vanderbijlpark side of Gauteng.

The work, day to day

Keep client tax files complete for five years
Track filing season deadlines and send reminders to clients
Register clients for income tax, VAT and PAYE
Advise on deductions such as retirement contributions and home office claims
Respond to SARS verification letters and upload documents on time

You'll need

Neat, careful and organised with client documents
Degree or diploma in accounting or tax
Clear writing for SARS letters and objections
Working knowledge of the Income Tax Act and VAT Act
At least 2 years of SARS eFiling experience
Comfortable handling tax season overtime

Extra points for

Tax software experience such as TaxShop or CaseWare
Postgraduate diploma in tax
Experience with trusts, estates and capital gains tax
