Tax Practitioner (Individuals and Trusts)

You'll keep clients in good standing with SARS at a small tax practice in Paarl. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

Location: Paarl, Western Cape. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Calculate IRP6 provisional tax for individuals and companies
• Register clients for income tax, VAT and PAYE
• Check SARS assessments and flag errors to clients
• Respond to SARS verification letters and upload documents on time
• Track filing season deadlines and send reminders to clients
• Advise on deductions such as retirement contributions and home office claims
• Prepare VAT201 returns and review input tax claims

• Registered tax practitioner with a recognised controlling body such as SAIT or SAIPA
• Comfortable handling tax season overtime
• At least 2 years of SARS eFiling experience
• Clear writing for SARS letters and objections

• Customs and excise knowledge for import-export clients
• Postgraduate diploma in tax

• Flexible hours outside filing season
• Paid controlling body subscription
• CPD hours paid by the firm
