Job Description

You'll keep machines turning and parts in spec at the packaging manufacturer in Kempton Park. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

The site is in Kempton Park; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying.

What you'll actually do

  • Maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems on production lines
  • Align shafts with a laser alignment tool after every drive change
  • Follow the lockout procedure before any work on machinery
  • Program and run CNC machines from engineering drawings
  • Record work and spares used on the job card or CMMS
  • Build and repair press tools, jigs and moulds

Must-haves

  • Own basic hand tools, or willing to build up a set
  • At least 2 years as a qualified artisan in a factory or workshop
  • Willing to work shifts, standby and weekend shutdowns
  • Trade test as Fitter and Turner, Fitter, Millwright or Toolmaker
  • N2 or N3 engineering subjects
  • Basic understanding of the General Machinery Regulations

Nice if you have

  • Millwright trade test, since it covers both mechanical and electrical
  • CNC programming experience
  • Food safety awareness for food and drink plants
