Tracking Control Room Agent (Vehicle Recovery) – Experienced

You'll watch the screens and radios at a vehicle tracking control centre in Coega, and send help the moment something is wrong. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

The work is in Coega, Eastern Cape, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Answer alarm signals and phone clients to verify them
• Track stolen vehicles on the map and guide recovery teams
• Dispatch the nearest response vehicle over the radio
• Hand over open incidents clearly at shift change
• Log every event and action on the monitoring software
• Keep call-out times and client passwords up to date

• No criminal convictions (vetting is done before you start)
• Clear speaking voice on radio and phone
• Matric
• Good memory for sites, streets and procedures
• PSIRA registration, Grade C or higher
• Able to stay focused through 12-hour day and night shifts

• Indoor, air-conditioned work environment
• Shift allowance for nights
• Path to senior controller or supervisor
• Training on the monitoring software

• Some companies give a typing and map test. Practise finding streets on a map quickly before the interview.
• Show you can stay alert at night. If you have done night shift before without problems, say so.
