Tracking Control Room Agent (Vehicle Recovery)

You'll watch the screens and radios at a remote video monitoring centre in Pinetown, and send help the moment something is wrong. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

This post is Pinetown-based, with most of your time spent at a remote video monitoring centre. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Dispatch the nearest response vehicle over the radio
• Talk down intruders over on-site speakers when the system allows
• Track stolen vehicles on the map and guide recovery teams
• Hand over open incidents clearly at shift change
• Report camera faults and offline sites to the technicians

• Clear speaking voice on radio and phone
• No criminal convictions (vetting is done before you start)
• PSIRA registration, Grade C or higher
• Good memory for sites, streets and procedures

• Call centre work in the past
• Experience on a CCTV or alarm monitoring platform
• CCTV operator short course

• Training on the monitoring software
• Indoor, air-conditioned work environment
• Path to senior controller or supervisor

• Some companies give a typing and map test. Practise finding streets on a map quickly before the interview.
• Mention any software you have used: alarm monitoring, CCTV or even call centre systems. Control rooms need people who learn screens fast.
