Job Description

You'll drive tractors and farm machines on a maize and soya farm near Bloemfontein through planting and harvest. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

Home base is a maize and soya farm on the Bloemfontein side of Free State. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

What you'll actually do

Mix and apply sprays exactly as the farm manager prescribes
Wash equipment after spraying and store chemicals safely
Report breakdowns and help the mechanic with repairs
Record hours, fuel and fields worked on the job card
Clear firebreaks and grade farm roads when needed

You'll need

Basic understanding of implements and settings
Available to live on or near the farm
Safe driver who respects chemical and machine safety
At least 2 years driving tractors on a farm
Reliable and sober on duty

Helpful, not essential

Basic mechanical skills
Experience with GPS guidance or auto-steer
