Trainee Accountant (SAICA Training Contract)

An audit and advisory firm in Ballito needs an accountant who can close fast and explain the variances. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

The site is in Ballito; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Run cash flow forecasts and manage the weekly payment run
• Maintain the fixed asset register and depreciation schedules
• Calculate provisional tax and check the VAT201 before submission
• Improve controls, such as segregation of duties on supplier changes
• Prepare monthly management accounts with variance commentary
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and clear old reconciling items
• Build budgets and rolling forecasts with department heads

• You meet month-end deadlines without being chased
• BCom Accounting or equivalent degree
• Experience on an ERP such as Sage X3, Sage 300, Syspro or SAP Business One
• Understanding of South African income tax and VAT

• Consolidation experience across several companies
• CA(SA) with SAICA, or AGA(SA) or Professional Accountant (SA) with SAIPA

• Study assistance for board exams
• Hybrid schedule outside month-end week
