Trainee Accountant (SAICA Training Contract)

An audit and advisory firm in Bloemfontein needs an accountant who can close fast and explain the variances. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

Home base is an audit and advisory firm on the Bloemfontein side of Free State.

• Track stock costing, standard costs and production variances
• Run cash flow forecasts and manage the weekly payment run
• Draft annual financial statements under IFRS or IFRS for SMEs
• Prepare monthly management accounts with variance commentary
• Prepare the audit file and answer auditor queries
• Maintain the fixed asset register and depreciation schedules
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and clear old reconciling items

• Working knowledge of IFRS or IFRS for SMEs
• Experience on an ERP such as Sage X3, Sage 300, Syspro or SAP Business One
• You meet month-end deadlines without being chased
• Understanding of South African income tax and VAT

• Completed articles at an audit firm
• CIMA qualification for management accounting posts
