Trainee Accountant (SAICA Training Contract)

You'll own the monthly numbers for an agricultural co-operative in Cape Town CBD, from journals to the management pack. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

You'll be based at an agricultural co-operative in Cape Town CBD. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and clear old reconciling items
• Track stock costing, standard costs and production variances
• Maintain the fixed asset register and depreciation schedules
• Build budgets and rolling forecasts with department heads
• Run the month-end close and prepare the trial balance
• Review creditors, debtors and payroll journals from the clerks

• Understanding of South African income tax and VAT
• At least 3 years of post-qualification accounting experience
• Experience on an ERP such as Sage X3, Sage 300, Syspro or SAP Business One
• BCom Accounting or equivalent degree

• Completed articles at an audit firm
• CIMA qualification for management accounting posts
