Trainee Accountant (SAICA Training Contract)

You'll own the monthly numbers for a national retail chain head office in Middelburg (MP), from journals to the management pack. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

This post is Middelburg (MP)-based, with most of your time spent at a national retail chain head office. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and clear old reconciling items
• Build budgets and rolling forecasts with department heads
• Prepare the audit file and answer auditor queries
• Draft annual financial statements under IFRS or IFRS for SMEs
• Calculate provisional tax and check the VAT201 before submission

• Strong Excel skills, including large data sets and lookups
• You meet month-end deadlines without being chased
• At least 3 years of post-qualification accounting experience
• Working knowledge of IFRS or IFRS for SMEs
• Experience on an ERP such as Sage X3, Sage 300, Syspro or SAP Business One
