Transport Controller (Long Haul Fleet) – Immediate Start

You'll plan the loads and watch the trucks for a road freight company in Hammarsdale, keeping every trip on time. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

You'll report in Hammarsdale. Relocation is not covered for this one. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Capture trip sheets, fuel and toll costs on the system
• Keep a register of PrDP and licence expiry dates for all drivers
• Phone drivers when trucks stop too long or go off-route
• Book vehicle services, licence renewals and roadworthy tests
• Compile daily reports on trips completed and late deliveries
• Update customers on delivery times and delays

• At least 2 years in transport or logistics
• Clear on the phone with drivers and customers
• Matric
• Knowledge of South African road freight regulations
• Calm and decisive when things go wrong
• Good with Excel and email

• Knowledge of cross-border documentation
• Transport management system (TMS) experience

• Cellphone allowance for standby shifts
• Office-based work with a steady roster
• Training on the fleet and tracking systems

• Give the fleet size and route types you handled, for example "40 trucks, long-haul and local". Hiring managers want scale.
• If you drove trucks before, say so. Controllers who know the road earn quick respect from drivers.
