Job Description

Trucks, drivers, loads and deadlines all meet on your screen at a courier operations centre in Umhlanga. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

What your day looks like

Arrange breakdown recovery and replacement vehicles
Plan daily loads to use full truck capacity
Assign trucks and drivers to routes and track them on telematics
Phone drivers when trucks stop too long or go off-route
Book vehicle services, licence renewals and roadworthy tests
Update customers on delivery times and delays

You'll need

Calm and decisive when things go wrong
Clear on the phone with drivers and customers
Able to work shifts in a 24-hour control office
Matric

Helpful, not essential

Transport management system (TMS) experience
Previous truck driving experience
