Turndown Attendant (Evening Shift)

You'll clean and set up guest rooms at a bush lodge in Stellenbosch to a checklist standard. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

This post is in Stellenbosch (Western Cape). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Wash, dry and press linen and table cloths in the laundry.
• Clean bathrooms, showers and toilets with the correct colour-coded cloths.
• Mix chemicals safely and store them as the MSDS sheet shows.
• Strip beds, make them up with fresh linen and square the corners.
• Inspect rooms against the checklist before release to front office.
• Restock minibars, amenities and tea trays and note what was used.
• Vacuum, mop and dust rooms from top to bottom.

• Honest and trustworthy around guest belongings
• Weekend and public holiday work
• Grade 10 or higher
• You can finish around 14 rooms in a shift
• You work neatly and notice a hair on a pillow

• Monthly award for best room scores
• Meals on duty
• Uniform and protective gloves supplied
• Staff transport from nearby townships for early shifts

• Many hotels recruit through walk-ins at the staff entrance, so ask for the housekeeping office and leave your CV there.
• Write how many rooms per shift you managed at your last job; supervisors look for that number.
