Van Sales Rep (Snacks & Confectionery)

Out on the road for a pet food manufacturer in Midrand, your car is your office and the store floor is your pitch. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

This post is in Midrand (Gauteng). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Run in-store tastings and demos on month-end weekends.
• Take orders from store managers and spaza owners on the sales app.
• Send your manager a daily report with volumes against target.
• Open new accounts with taverns, spazas and independent retailers.
• Log kilometres and fuel slips for the monthly claim.
• Visit 8 to 15 outlets a day on a planned call cycle.
• Track competitor pricing and new products in your area.

• 1 to 3 years of FMCG, merchandising or route sales experience
• A valid Code 08 (Code B) driver's licence, for rep roles
• You can work to daily and monthly volume targets
• Physically able to lift cases and pack shelves
• You know the townships, suburbs and main roads of your area
• Good with people from store managers to tuck-shop owners

• A sales or marketing certificate
• Speaking two or more local languages
• Your own reliable car for a car-allowance position

• Monthly commission on volume and new accounts
• Company vehicle or car allowance plus petrol card
• Branded uniform and safety boots
• Product samples and staff pricing

• Name the areas you know and the store types you have serviced (supermarket chains, independents, spazas) in your CV summary.
• Recruiters check your licence first, so attach a clear certified copy and note any clean driving record.
