Job Description

Pick it right, pack it neat, send it out: that's the job at a frozen-food distribution centre in Durban Central. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

You'll report in Durban Central. Relocation is not covered for this one.

The work, day to day

Report damaged, short or expired items to the shift supervisor
Count stock during weekly cycle counts and month-end stock takes
Keep aisles clear of plastic, cardboard and loose pallets
Wear thermal gear and rotate in and out of freezer zones on schedule
Pick orders from pick slips or a handheld scanner, bin by bin
Unpack returned parcels and sort them into resell or write-off
Stack finished orders on pallets and stretch-wrap them tight

What you need

Grade 10 or higher; matric preferred
Happy to work shifts, weekends and public holidays in peak season
You're fit enough to lift boxes up to 25kg all shift
South African ID or a valid work permit

Helpful, not essential

A valid forklift or reach truck certificate
Previous picking experience with a handheld RF scanner
Experience in a cold-chain or freezer environment
