Waiter / Waitress (Evening Shift) – Experienced

Guests at this beachfront cocktail bar in eMalahleni come back for the people, and you'll be one of the reasons. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

Home base is a beachfront cocktail bar on the eMalahleni side of Mpumalanga. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Refuse service to anyone under 18 or visibly drunk, as the Liquor Act requires.
• Mix cocktails, pour draught and serve shooters to spec at the bar.
• Set tables, polish cutlery and glasses, and check condiments before doors open.
• Explain specials, allergens and wine pairings in plain words.
• Restock the bar fridges and help with the weekly stock count.
• Carry plates to the right seat without auctioning food at the table.
• Greet guests, seat them and hand over menus within a minute of arrival.

• At least 6 months of waitering, bar or coffee shop experience
• Happy to work nights, weekends and public holidays
• Quick with basic maths and card machines
• You can stand and walk for a full 8-hour shift
• Grade 10 or higher; matric is a plus
• You speak clear English and can chat easily with guests

• Uniform supplied and laundered
• Late-shift lift home within a set radius
• Staff meal on every shift
• You keep your own tips, paid out daily or weekly

• Put the names of the restaurants you worked at and your average covers per shift at the top of your CV.
• Walk in with your CV between 2pm and 4pm when managers have time, not during lunch or dinner service.
