Warehouse General Hand (Day Shift) – Permanent

You'll keep a busy frozen-food distribution centre in Soweto stocked, picked and moving out on time. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

Location: Soweto, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first.

• Scan every item so the system shows the right stock count
• Wear thermal gear and rotate in and out of freezer zones on schedule
• Report damaged, short or expired items to the shift supervisor
• Pick orders from pick slips or a handheld scanner, bin by bin
• Keep aisles clear of plastic, cardboard and loose pallets

• South African ID or a valid work permit
• Grade 10 or higher; matric preferred
• You're fit enough to lift boxes up to 25kg all shift
• Willing to wear safety boots, a reflector vest and gloves

• Basic computer skills for capturing counts
• Previous picking experience with a handheld RF scanner

• Permanent appointment for reliable temps after peak season
• Safety boots, overalls and freezer jackets supplied
• Chance to be trained on forklift after probation

• If you have done any stock counts, packing or even shelf work before, list it first. It shows you already know how to handle stock.
• Say clearly that you can work nights and weekends. Peak-season hiring goes to people who are available.
