Warehouse Picker (Night Shift)

This is steady, physical warehouse work at a building-supplies depot in Epping, and nobody minds if it's your first job. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

This post is Epping-based, with most of your time spent at a building-supplies depot.

• Label boxes with the correct waybill and route sticker
• Move pallets with a hand pallet jack to the dispatch lane
• Pick orders from pick slips or a handheld scanner, bin by bin
• Pack cartons, add fillers and seal them with tape guns
• Scan every item so the system shows the right stock count
• Stack finished orders on pallets and stretch-wrap them tight
• Replenish empty pick faces from overstock racking

• Willing to wear safety boots, a reflector vest and gloves
• Grade 10 or higher; matric preferred
• You're fit enough to lift boxes up to 25kg all shift
• Clean criminal record (most warehouses run a check)
• Happy to work shifts, weekends and public holidays in peak season
• You can read product codes and count accurately

• Experience in a cold-chain or freezer environment
• Basic computer skills for capturing counts
• Living within walking or taxi distance of the warehouse

• Permanent appointment for reliable temps after peak season
• Chance to be trained on forklift after probation
• Staff canteen with subsidised meals

• Arrive for the interview in closed shoes. Some warehouses walk you through the floor straight away.
• Put your cellphone number and the area you live in at the very top of your CV. Warehouse recruiters phone fast and hire people close by.
