Warehouse Picker (Night Shift)

This is steady, physical warehouse work at a clothing distribution centre in Germiston, and nobody minds if it's your first job. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

Home base is a clothing distribution centre on the Germiston side of Gauteng.

• Unpack returned parcels and sort them into resell or write-off
• Wear thermal gear and rotate in and out of freezer zones on schedule
• Count stock during weekly cycle counts and month-end stock takes
• Replenish empty pick faces from overstock racking
• Keep aisles clear of plastic, cardboard and loose pallets
• Report damaged, short or expired items to the shift supervisor
• Scan every item so the system shows the right stock count

• Grade 10 or higher; matric preferred
• South African ID or a valid work permit
• Clean criminal record (most warehouses run a check)
• Punctual, with reliable transport home after late shifts

• Overtime paid at time-and-a-half on weekdays
• Chance to be trained on forklift after probation
• Permanent appointment for reliable temps after peak season

• Say clearly that you can work nights and weekends. Peak-season hiring goes to people who are available.
• Arrive for the interview in closed shoes. Some warehouses walk you through the floor straight away.
