Warehouse Picker (Night Shift)

Pick it right, pack it neat, send it out: that's the job at a frozen-food distribution centre in Potchefstroom. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

The work is in Potchefstroom, North West, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Unpack returned parcels and sort them into resell or write-off
• Report damaged, short or expired items to the shift supervisor
• Scan every item so the system shows the right stock count
• Pick orders from pick slips or a handheld scanner, bin by bin
• Move pallets with a hand pallet jack to the dispatch lane
• Wear thermal gear and rotate in and out of freezer zones on schedule

• Willing to wear safety boots, a reflector vest and gloves
• Punctual, with reliable transport home after late shifts
• Happy to work shifts, weekends and public holidays in peak season
• Clean criminal record (most warehouses run a check)
• Grade 10 or higher; matric preferred
• South African ID or a valid work permit

• Overtime paid at time-and-a-half on weekdays
• Safety boots, overalls and freezer jackets supplied
• Chance to be trained on forklift after probation
• Permanent appointment for reliable temps after peak season

• If you have done any stock counts, packing or even shelf work before, list it first. It shows you already know how to handle stock.
• Say clearly that you can work nights and weekends. Peak-season hiring goes to people who are available.
