Warranty Clerk (Dealership)

You'll be the link between customers and the workshop at the multi-brand service centre in Mamelodi. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

Home base is a multi-brand service centre on the Mamelodi side of Gauteng. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Pick, pack and issue parts to technicians against job cards
• Book in vehicles, walk around with the customer and note existing damage
• Submit warranty claims with photos and technician reports
• Open job cards and explain the work and cost before it starts
• Look up part numbers in the electronic parts catalogue using the VIN
• Handle complaints calmly and find a fix with the workshop manager
• Count stock during cycle counts and year-end stocktake

• At least 2 years as a service advisor, parts interpreter or in a similar counter role
• Code 08 licence
• Calm and polite with customers, even when they are upset
• Accurate when capturing part numbers and prices

• Experience in a customer satisfaction survey-driven dealership
• Some mechanical training or a trade background

• Commission on parts sales or workshop turnover
• Company uniform
• Monthly CSI bonus for customer ratings
• Paid brand training

• If your customer satisfaction scores were good, give the score. It is the number dealers watch most.
• For parts jobs, say how quickly you can find a part using the VIN. Some interviews include a quick lookup test.
