Welding Robot Operator (Body Shop) – Entry Level

You'll be based at an automotive component manufacturer in Rosslyn. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Follow standard work sheets and quality checkpoints at every step
• Rotate between stations as the team leader plans
• Load and unload robotic welding cells safely
• Wear the correct PPE, including gloves, glasses and ear protection
• Pull the andon cord when a defect or safety issue appears
• Keep your station clean using 5S rules
• Check parts for defects before they go into the vehicle

• Able to pass a basic literacy and numeracy test
• Lives close enough to reach the plant on time for every shift
• Willing to work rotating shifts, including nights
• Good eyesight and hand coordination

• Basic computer skills
• NQF 2 in Automotive Manufacturing and Assembly through merSETA
• Forklift licence for material handling

• Transport from nearby townships on some routes
• Shift allowance and paid overtime

• Include any factory or line work you have done, even outside the car industry. It shows you can handle shift work.
