Yellow Machine Mechanic (Earthmoving Plant) – Immediate Start

Every hour a truck stands still costs money. This long-distance trucking fleet in Randburg needs a mechanic who can fix it quickly. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

The work is in Randburg, Gauteng, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Repair hydraulics on tippers, cranes and tail-lifts
• Diagnose electronic engine faults with a heavy-duty diagnostic laptop
• Inspect tyres, fifth wheels and kingpins for wear and damage
• Overhaul brake systems, including air valves, chambers and slack adjusters
• Attend roadside breakdowns in the service truck

• Physically fit for work under trucks and on pits
• Solid understanding of air brake systems
• At least 3 years on heavy commercial vehicles or plant
• Experience with electronic diagnostics on modern diesel engines

• PrDP for road tests with loaded vehicles
• Hydraulic systems training
• Brand-specific heavy vehicle courses

• Heavy-duty tools supplied by the workshop

• Overtime available most weeks
