Access Control Officer (Grade C) – Experienced

The gate at a construction yard in eMalahleni is the first line of safety, and you would be standing at it. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

Home base is a construction yard on the eMalahleni side of Mpumalanga. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Watch for loitering, broken fencing and open doors during night patrols
• Direct traffic and parking during school drop-off or big events
• Call the armed response or SAPS number from the call list when needed
• Write every incident and shift change in the occurrence book (OB)
• Search vehicles and bags leaving the site when company policy requires it
• Keep the guardhouse clean and the OB up to date for the relieving officer
• Patrol the perimeter on a set route and scan checkpoint tags

• Able to work 12-hour day and night shifts, including weekends
• PSIRA registration at Grade C or higher, paid up to date
• Grade 10 minimum; matric preferred
• Speaks and writes basic English

• A Code 8 licence for vehicle patrols
• First-aid Level 1 certificate

• Provident fund contributions
• Chance to be upgraded to Grade B with training
• Stable long-term site contracts
