Access Control Officer (Grade C)

The gate at a gated residential estate in Germiston is the first line of safety, and you would be standing at it. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

This post is Germiston-based, with most of your time spent at a gated residential estate.

• Write every incident and shift change in the occurrence book (OB)
• Open and close boom gates for residents, deliveries and contractors
• Test the panic button and radio when you come on duty
• Check visitors' IDs and capture them on the visitor app or in the gate register
• Patrol the perimeter on a set route and scan checkpoint tags
• Search vehicles and bags leaving the site when company policy requires it

• Grade 10 minimum; matric preferred
• Alert, polite and firm with the public
• Speaks and writes basic English
• Physically fit for foot patrols
• Clear, neat handwriting for the OB and registers
• Able to work 12-hour day and night shifts, including weekends

• Chance to be upgraded to Grade B with training
• Paid night-shift allowance under the security sector rules
• Stable long-term site contracts
