Accounts Clerk (Property Management) – Immediate Start

You'll keep the books clean and up to date for a wholesale distributor in Cape Town CBD. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

Home base is a wholesale distributor on the Cape Town CBD side of Western Cape. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Reconcile creditors statements and sort out differences with suppliers
• Match orders, delivery notes and invoices before a payment goes out
• Update customer credit limits and put accounts on hold when needed
• Post month-end journals for accruals, prepayments and depreciation
• Keep the filing system in order for the annual audit or review
• Run petty cash and file slips with proper supporting documents

• Understanding of VAT input and output rules
• Accurate with figures and careful with supplier bank details
• At least 2 years of hands-on bookkeeping or clerk work
• Practical skill in Sage Pastel, Sage Business Cloud or Xero
• Matric with Accounting

• Knowledge of Sage Evolution or QuickBooks
• Registered with SAIPA or the ICB as a bookkeeper

• Thirteenth cheque at many small firms
• Hybrid work after probation at some practices
• Paid study leave for bookkeeping exams
• Office hours with no weekend work

• Recruiters often give a short Excel or recon test, so practise a bank recon before the interview.
• Say how far you take the books, for example "to trial balance" or "to management accounts"; it tells recruiters your level.
