Job Description

You'll answer alarms across a mixed-use neighbourhood in Brakpan in a marked vehicle, armed and ready. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

You'll report in Brakpan. Relocation is not covered for this one.

The work, day to day

Do vehicle checks: tyres, fuel, lights and siren
Search the property perimeter and check doors, windows and gates
Write detailed incident reports on the tablet or in the vehicle logbook
Respond to alarm and panic signals sent by the control room
Give first aid at an incident until paramedics take over

You'll need

At least 2 years in guarding or response
Clean criminal record and no pending cases
SAPS firearm competency certificate for handguns (and shotgun if required)
Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts

Extra points for

Knowledge of the local streets and sectors
SAPS, SANDF or reservist background
First-aid Level 2 or 3
