Armed Patrol Driver (Suburban Area)

You'll answer alarms across a suburban residential area in Burgersfort in a marked vehicle, armed and ready. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

Location: Burgersfort, Limpopo. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Drive the response vehicle safely at speed to client addresses
• Visit clients for key-holder checks and open-up requests
• Check the firearm in and out of the safe at shift start and end
• Search the property perimeter and check doors, windows and gates
• Do vehicle checks: tyres, fuel, lights and siren
• Give first aid at an incident until paramedics take over

• Valid Code 8 or Code 10 licence with at least 2 years driving
• Calm under pressure and physically fit
• At least 2 years in guarding or response
• SAPS firearm competency certificate for handguns (and shotgun if required)
• PSIRA Grade B or C with an armed response course
• Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts

• Response vehicle and firearm provided
• Group life cover through the provident fund
• Danger and night allowances
