Job Description

When a panic button goes off in a suburban residential area in Bethlehem, you are the one who arrives first. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

Location: Bethlehem, Free State. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

What your day looks like

Drive the response vehicle safely at speed to client addresses
Give first aid at an incident until paramedics take over
Write detailed incident reports on the tablet or in the vehicle logbook
Respond to alarm and panic signals sent by the control room
Search the property perimeter and check doors, windows and gates
Secure a scene until SAPS arrives and hand over details

Must-haves

Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts
Calm under pressure and physically fit
PSIRA Grade B or C with an armed response course
Valid Code 8 or Code 10 licence with at least 2 years driving
At least 2 years in guarding or response
SAPS firearm competency certificate for handguns (and shotgun if required)

Extra points for

Knowledge of the local streets and sectors
Advanced driving course
SAPS, SANDF or reservist background
