Job Description

Serious work for a serious officer: armed response across a farming district in Soweto. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

You'll be based at a farming district in Soweto. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

What you'll actually do

Visit clients for key-holder checks and open-up requests
Secure a scene until SAPS arrives and hand over details
Carry out visible patrols through the sector between call-outs
Respond to alarm and panic signals sent by the control room
Do vehicle checks: tyres, fuel, lights and siren
Check the firearm in and out of the safe at shift start and end
Write detailed incident reports on the tablet or in the vehicle logbook

Must-haves

SAPS firearm competency certificate for handguns (and shotgun if required)
Valid Code 8 or Code 10 licence with at least 2 years driving
Clean criminal record and no pending cases
Calm under pressure and physically fit
At least 2 years in guarding or response
