Armed Response Officer (Residential Patrols)

You'll answer alarms across a mixed-use neighbourhood in Montague Gardens in a marked vehicle, armed and ready. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

You'll be based at a mixed-use neighbourhood in Montague Gardens. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Give first aid at an incident until paramedics take over
• Search the property perimeter and check doors, windows and gates
• Do vehicle checks: tyres, fuel, lights and siren
• Drive the response vehicle safely at speed to client addresses
• Check the firearm in and out of the safe at shift start and end

• PSIRA Grade B or C with an armed response course
• Calm under pressure and physically fit
• At least 2 years in guarding or response
• SAPS firearm competency certificate for handguns (and shotgun if required)
• Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts
• Clean criminal record and no pending cases

• Danger and night allowances
• Group life cover through the provident fund
• Response vehicle and firearm provided
