Assistant Accountant (Audit Firm Client Services) – Fixed-Term

Month-end, year-end and audit prep all run through you at a private school trust in Randburg. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

The work is in Randburg, Gauteng, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day.

• Prepare monthly management accounts with variance commentary
• Run cash flow forecasts and manage the weekly payment run
• Build budgets and rolling forecasts with department heads
• Track stock costing, standard costs and production variances
• Prepare the audit file and answer auditor queries
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and clear old reconciling items
• Draft annual financial statements under IFRS or IFRS for SMEs

• Working knowledge of IFRS or IFRS for SMEs
• BCom Accounting or equivalent degree
• Strong Excel skills, including large data sets and lookups
• Experience on an ERP such as Sage X3, Sage 300, Syspro or SAP Business One

• Study assistance for board exams
• Hybrid schedule outside month-end week
