Job Description

Clients sleep better when their tax is sorted, and a mid-tier accounting firm in Alberton needs you to sort it. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

This post is in Alberton (Gauteng). Please only apply if you can travel there daily.

The work, day to day

Draft objections and appeals with supporting schedules
Apply for tax clearance and tax compliance status PINs
Prepare VAT201 returns and review input tax claims
Check SARS assessments and flag errors to clients
Calculate IRP6 provisional tax for individuals and companies
Respond to SARS verification letters and upload documents on time
Register clients for income tax, VAT and PAYE

You'll need

Registered tax practitioner with a recognised controlling body such as SAIT or SAIPA
Comfortable handling tax season overtime
Clear writing for SARS letters and objections
Degree or diploma in accounting or tax
Working knowledge of the Income Tax Act and VAT Act

Helpful, not essential

Tax software experience such as TaxShop or CaseWare
Experience with trusts, estates and capital gains tax
