Job Description

Machines set the pace at this plastic moulding plant in Durban Central; you keep up and catch the faults. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

You'll be based at a plastic moulding plant in Durban Central. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

What your day looks like

  • Hand over at shift change with notes on rejects and stoppages
  • Check product for size, weight and seal faults and pull out rejects
  • Stop the line with the emergency stop if anything jams or looks unsafe
  • Wear hairnets, beard covers and gloves in food-safe zones
  • Help the machine operator clear jams and reload hoppers
  • Move full bins and crates to the next station with a trolley
  • Feed raw material or empty packaging into the machine at the start of the line

Must-haves

  • You follow hygiene rules without being reminded
  • Neat, reliable and on time for shift start
  • Basic reading and counting for batch sheets
  • No problem wearing full PPE, including ear protection

Nice if you have

  • NQF Level 2 manufacturing learnership completed
  • Previous work in a food or FMCG factory
