Job Description

Build the SQL, models and dashboards that run the weekly meeting at a retail chain analytics team in Fourways. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

This post is in Fourways (Gauteng). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

The work, day to day

Mask or remove personal information in data sets under POPIA
Automate weekly reports that used to take hours in Excel
Build ETL pipelines in SSIS, Azure Data Factory or Python
Build simple forecasting and segmentation models in Python or R
Keep a data dictionary so everyone uses the same definitions
Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and data models
Write SQL to pull, join and clean data from several sources

You'll need

Able to explain what the numbers mean, not just show them
Hands-on Power BI, Tableau or a similar tool
Advanced Excel
At least 2 years in a data or reporting role (not needed for graduate posts)
Careful with sensitive customer data

Extra points for

Experience with Databricks, Snowflake or Fabric
Industry knowledge in retail, insurance or credit
Microsoft PL-300 Power BI Data Analyst certification
