Job Description

A retail chain analytics team in Vanderbijlpark needs dashboards people trust and numbers that add up. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

You'll be based at a retail chain analytics team in Vanderbijlpark. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

What your day looks like

Check data quality and trace odd numbers back to the source
Keep a data dictionary so everyone uses the same definitions
Automate weekly reports that used to take hours in Excel
Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and data models
Meet business users to turn their questions into report requirements
Build simple forecasting and segmentation models in Python or R
Mask or remove personal information in data sets under POPIA

You'll need

Advanced Excel
Able to explain what the numbers mean, not just show them
Careful with sensitive customer data
Strong SQL, including joins, window functions and CTEs
Degree in statistics, maths, computer science, economics or a related field
Hands-on Power BI, Tableau or a similar tool

Helpful, not essential

Microsoft PL-300 Power BI Data Analyst certification
Python with pandas for data wrangling
