Boom Gate Controller (Industrial Park) – Entry Level

The gate at an industrial park in Phalaborwa is the first line of safety, and you would be standing at it. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

You'll be based at an industrial park in Phalaborwa. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Check visitors' IDs and capture them on the visitor app or in the gate register
• Search vehicles and bags leaving the site when company policy requires it
• Patrol the perimeter on a set route and scan checkpoint tags
• Hand out and collect contractor access cards
• Write every incident and shift change in the occurrence book (OB)

• Clean criminal record
• PSIRA registration at Grade C or higher, paid up to date
• Grade 10 minimum; matric preferred
• Able to work 12-hour day and night shifts, including weekends

• Uniform, boots and winter jacket issued
• Chance to be upgraded to Grade B with training
• Stable long-term site contracts
• Paid night-shift allowance under the security sector rules
